An oil painting on board depicting an abstract portrait, 1973, after Vladimir Yankilevsky, Russian, Soviet, 1938-2018. Signed in the Cyrillic and dated lower right. Vladimir Borisovich Yankilevsky was a Russian artist, painter, graphic artist, illustrator - one of the main innovators in post war Moscow unofficial art, one of the leaders of Soviet nonconformists. The main form of painting is a triptych, a symbol of the biomechanical structure of the world, where the masculine and feminine beginnings form the universe. The symbolic motive is existential boxes, spaces that limit freedom. One of a kind artwork.
