Anatoly Lepin (Russian Soviet, born 1944) colored pencil painting on paper depicting a river view, 1980. Signed with a monogram and dated lower right. Framed. Provenance: Shapiro Auction, April 17, 2008, lot 206. Anatoly Vasilievich Lepin, a Soviet artist, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. He studied at the Polygraphic Institute at the art faculty. Belonged to the circle of Moscow underground artists. One of the founders of the 20 Moscow Artists group. In the 1970s he began to work on stylized images of plants and landscapes. One of a kind artwork.
