ANTIQUE VIENNA BRONZE LAMP OF MONK WITH VIOLIN
A cast bronze table lamp with modern light fittings. The lamp represens an Catholic monk playing the violin to an icon of Virgin Mary, he is watched by an angel sitting on the branches of a tree. The item has golden accents and is mounted on a marble base. This lot is an example of a very popular production in Austria at the beginning of the 20th century, when Franz Xavier Bergman, 1861 to 1936, opened a foundry in Vienna.
