THE SWAN LAKE BALLET LITHOGRAPH BY ILYA SHENKER
Color lithograph by Ilya Shenker, born 1920, a Soviet and American artist of Jewish origin. The print depicts a scene from The Swan Lake ballet, Odette in the lake. From a series of eight silkscreen lithographs. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Numbered 18 out of 150 in the lower left. The item was donated by Sandra Genter to the Jerome Robbins Dance Division possibly in 2013. The Swan Lake was written by Pyotr Tchaikovksy and first performed in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Graphic Art For Collectors.
