Color pencil drawing on paper by Jean Cocteau, 1889 to 1963, a French writer, filmmaker, and visual artist of the Surrealist movement. The piece represents a profile portrait of an imp. Signed by the artist, dated 1959 in the lower left. Inscription in the lower left: A mon ami Lorenzi, To my friend Lorenzi. Stamp of previous owner on the backside. Provenance: Collection Forestal, Nice, France. Private collection, Juan les Pins, Antibes, France. Private collection, Santa Monica, California. The artwork comes with a letter of authenticity.
