INDIAN NUDE PAINTING BY HEMENDRANATH MAZUMDAR
Hemendranath Mazumdar, Indian, 1894 to 1948, oil painting on canvas depicting a female nude portrait. Signed lower left. Hemendranath Mazumdar is known for Romantic, exotic scenes of female figure painting. Born in 1894 in erstwhile Bengal, now a part of Bangladesh, Hemendranath Mazumdar was one of the few Indian artists of the early twentieth century to achieve both academic and commercial success.
