Attributed to Maurice Utrillo, French, 1883 to 1955, oil painting on canvas, Au Lapin Agile Cabaret, Montmarte. Signed lower right. Framed. Utrillo painted more than 200 times Au Lapin Agile Cabaret which was an artists refuge. La Maison Sennelier was created in 1887 by Gustave Sennelier at 3 Quai Voltaire in Paris, to offer the best products for artists. Famous artists such as Cezanne Picasso Utrillo and more was customers of the Maison Sennelier. Maurice Utrillo, born Maurice Valadon was a French painter of the School of Paris who specialized in cityscapes. He is a well known French landscape painter, who painted mainly views of the Parisian outskirts and suburbs marked by lyricism; by tradition, it is referred to as Naive art. Born in the Montmartre quarter of Paris, France, Utrillo is one of the few famous painters of Montmartre who were born there.
