ANTIQUE CHINESE INK COLOR PAINTING ON SILK BY LI DI
Li Di, Chinese, 1100 to 1197, ink and color painting on silk scroll depicting birds seated on tree branches with blossoming flowers. An orange seal, upper to the center. Inscribed with Calligraphy and a red seal, to the center right. Two red seals, lower right. An orange seal and a red seal, upper left. Li Di was a court painter in the Imperial Painting Academy of the Chinese Southern Song dynasty, 1127 to 1279. Evidence that Li Di was active as a painter during the latter half of the twelfth century is provided by the dates he wrote on some of his works and also from the career of his son, Li Demao, who, not surprisingly, also became a painter in the Imperial Painting Academy. Li Di specialized in painting flowers, birds, and animals. Antique Asian and Oriental Art Masters Paintings on Silk Scrolls, Wall Art, and Collectibles. One of a kind artwork.
