EVGENY KROPIVNITKSY RUSSIAN SOVIET ERA OIL PAINTING - Evgeny Kropivnitsky, Russian, Soviet, 1893 to 1979, an oil on canvas painting depicting a Cubist still life composition with a bouquet of flowers in a vase, 1966. Signed with a monogram lower left. Signed and titled in Cyrillic on the back side. Also has an attached gallery paper inscribed in Russian and German and stamped. Yevgeny Leonidovich Kropivnitsky was a poet, artist, and composer. He graduated from the Imperial Stroganov Art School in 1911. In 1912 – 1920 lived in Moscow, studied at Shanyavsky University at the Faculty of History. In the 1920s he was close to the circle of artists of the Jack of Diamonds. Leader of the Lianozovo group. In the 1950s, the Kropivnitsky house in the village of Vinogradovo near Moscow became one of the centers of the emerging Moscow unofficial art. Later this center moved to the barracks apartment of E.L.s son-in-law. Kropivnitsky, artist O. Rabin, in Lianozovo. One of a kind artwork.
