19TH C PERSIAN RASHTI DUZI HAND EMBROIDERED TEXTILE
An antique Persian hand embroidered textile wall hanging. The ware is adorned with a hand embroidered symmetrical composition with a figural medallion to the center decorated and surrounded with floral, paisley, and foliage ornaments. Circa: late 19th century. Rashti Duzi refers to embroideries woven in the city of Rasht in Northern Iran. Woven for over 400 years, famed for their intricately embroidered details and borders of woven Boteh Paisley motifs.
