Oil on canvas painting by Mohammed Melehi, 1936 to 2020, a Moroccan artist of the Casablanca school, a formative leader in the artistic and cultural development of post-colonial Morocco. The Color Field movement played a pivotal role in the genesis of Melehis style, which also bears the influence of Islamic culture. This lot is a fine example of the artists mature work, a bold color combination of abstract linear figures. Signed by the artist and dated 1978 on the backside. Wooden frame.
