A mixed media painting on cardboard, Head of a Young Doe. Signed, G. Courbet, lower right. Stamped and paper labels of the Musee dOrsay, Christies, Oliver and Phillips, Louise Leiris, Private Collection, Galerie Bayeler Paris, and others, on the backside. Gustave Courbet, 1819 to 1877, French artist, landscape, genre, and portrait painter. He is considered one of the finalists of romanticism and the founder of realism in painting. One of the largest artists in France during the 19th century, a key figure in French realism. One of a kind artwork.
