ANTIQUE GRAND TOUR SUMERIAN POTTERY IDOL FIGURINE
A hand build pottery idol representing a human figurine, a Grand Tour reproduction of an ancient Sumerian piece. The figure has a beard with painted face and standing with his hands clasped in front of his chest and wearing a long robe with many triangular patterns carved into it. The sculpture has an archaic appearance. The Grand Tour was the 17th to early 19th century custom of a traditional trip through Europe, with Italy as a key destination, undertaken by upper class young European men.
