The icon is overlaid with an 84 Silver oklad or riza, adorned with chased and engraved detailed patterns, and a traditional Greek ornament to the edge. Inscribed lower to the center on the riza. Marked with an Russian Silver standard hallmark, a makers mark, and other marks. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a revered miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which appeared in Kazan in 1579. One of the most revered icons of the Russian Orthodox Church.
