Titled Perekop and dated 1892 on the backside. Matted and framed. Illarion Pryanishnikov was one of the founders of the Peredvizhniki artistic cooperative. In 1891-1892 the artist live in Crimea where he was being treated for tuberculosis. Perekop is a part of the Crimean Peninsula where the Crimean War of 1853-1856 partly took place.
