MAREK WLODARSKI POLISH SANGUINE DRAWING SIGNED - Marek Wlodarski, born Henryk Streng, Polish, 1903 to 1960, sanguine on paper drawing. A male portrait with bottles. Signed Streng Limec in the lower right. Undated. Framed. In the 1920s, Henryk Streng studied at the School of Decorative Arts under Kazimierz Sichulski and at Fernand Legeres Academie Moderne in Paris. The characters of Andre Breton and Andre Masson exerted a strong influence on him. In Lviv, from 1930, Wlodarski co-founded the left-wing group Artes. During WWII, Streng changed his name to Marek Wlodarski due to his Jewish origins. After the war, the artist lived in Warsaw and became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
