Signed with dual signatures and dated, in lower left corner in red and brown paint. Framed. Additionally inscribed and dated, and dimensions, on the backside. This painting was created in 1972 for the Republican Art Exhibition commemorating the 27th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany. The composition portrays two female military personnel within the confines of a field dwelling. The scene explores the psychological tension between the senior and the newcomer, subtly alluding to interpersonal conflict and emotional strain under wartime conditions. This work occupies a unique place in Mikhail Belskys oeuvre: unlike his typical focus on industrial themes, it belongs to the rare genre of wartime portraiture.
