RUSSIAN SOVIET OIL DOG PAINTING BY NIKOLAI GORLOV 1949 - A vintage Russian Soviet oil on board painting titled Three Hunting Dogs at Rest by Nikolai Nikolaevich Gorlov, 1949. The painting depicts an animalistic scene set in a sunset-lit field, featuring two setters and a pointer. The academically accurate proportions, warm ochre palette, impasto rendering of the dogs’ fur, and atmospheric lighting are typical of the postwar realist school of the late 1940s. Signed by Gorlov and dated 1949, lower right. Framed. Provenance: European private collection.
