Layesharim Tehillah, allegorical-moral play by the Ramchal. Warsaw 1857.

Layeshrim Tehillah: poem of friendship for the wedding of Yaakov de Gavish and Rachel de Viega Inkrish, an allegorical drama by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato.

Warsaw, 1857. Yoel Lebensohn Press,

Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, known as the Ramchal (1707-1746), was one of the greatest Kabbalists in Jewish history. He was born, raised, and educated in Padua under the tutelage of his primary teacher, Rabbi Isaiah Bassan, and also studied secular knowledge. In 1722, Rabbi Isaiah left Padua and moved to Reggio to serve as a rabbi there. The Ramchal joined the study group "Mevakshei Hashem" (Seekers of God) and became their rabbi and leader. He engaged extensively in revelations and studied the secrets of the Torah through a maggid (heavenly mentor) sent to him. The Ramchal wandered between various cities (such as Padua, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam), and in the final years of his life, he immigrated to the Land of Israel, where he passed away at a young age.

The present play was first published in Amsterdam in 1743, and some consider it to be the first literary work of modern Hebrew.
