Софьин Андрей Алексеевич родился 11 марта 1962 года в городе Пермь. Окончил художественно-графический факультет Пермского педагогического училища. С 1997 года является членом Союза художников России. Один из организаторов и член Правления Петербургского Пастельного общества. С 2012 года является членом Объединения профессиональных художников Израиля. Работы художника находятся в частных коллекциях России и за рубежом.
Творчество художника корнями уходит в модернизм, затрагивая различные направления, одним из которых со всей уверенностью можно назвать направление экспрессионизма с его особым эмоциональным, иррациональным восприятием мира.
