Klemmer made of wood with varnish coating, late 19th century early 20th century, Persia. Elongated box with sliding cover, with rounded edges. The cover is a little convex. The cover was painted colorfully on all sides, except for the base painted black and amplified by a double linear frame in gold.The main theme presented on the cover of the Klemmer is that of Sheikh Semen. This is one of the stories of the late 12th century of Farid al-Din Attar's "Conference of Birds" (Mantic al-Tayr). After a long search of seven valleys (symbolizing man's spiritual pilgrimage) all but 30 birds perished. When they reach their destination, they realize that Simurgh (in Farsi means 30 birds) is really themselves.
