A rare proclamation on behalf of the Yeshiva and Talmud Torah "Magan Avot" Chabad in Hebron - 1878 - Marked by Ben Zion A - "Maemek Hebron" . Cuenca, the chief rabbi of the Sephardic community, Rabbi Yosef Hasson, Rabbi Nissim Chaim Castillo, Rabbi Chaim Bagaio.
"Ma'emek Hebron", a large proclamation on behalf of the "Chief Rabbinate" and includes Sephardim [Hebron, 1834].
The proclamation was probably printed close to the founding of the Yeshiva and Torah Talmud "Magan Avot" in Hebron, in the year 1334, with a call to our brothers Bnei Israel in the Diaspora to support and contribute to the benefit of the institution. The proclamation is signed by three of the leaders of the Chabad Hasidic community and the Sephardic community in Hebron.
In its lower part are two official seals: "Seal of the Magen Avot Yeshiva and Bei Talmud Torah for the Ashkenazi Ayat of Hebron" (in Hebrew, German and French).
At the top of the announcement is an illustration of the structure of the Cave of the Patriarchs, surrounded by the verse: "And I remembered my covenant with Jacob, and even my covenant with Isaac, and even my covenant with Abraham I will remember and the land I will remember", and under the title "And the land I will remember".
On the "Magan Avot" institution in Hebron, see in detail in the book "Toldot Chabad in the Holy Land", edited by Rabbi Shalom Duber Levin (Brooklyn, 1958), chapter 25; the book "Three Worlds", by Haim Hamburger, part Shani (Jerusalem, 556), chapter 8.
