Painting inspired by Zhu Yiyong. - Star XXI  century 52.5 x 62 cm Canvas, acrylic Zhu Yiyong became known to the Chinese public in the early 1980s, when he was studying at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. Indeed, during his youth, he received several medals and prizes for his creations that were exhibited in Paris in 1982. Zhu Yiyong then became a professor at the academy in which he graduated, and he received numerous awards for those paintings that have been exhibited in China, but also in the rest of Asia, Europe and the United States.  Zhu Yiyong's works are recognizable by the black-and-white faces of his subjects, who are most often children, and the stars they form with the red string in their hands. The symbolism of the red star is of course communism and socialism that have been in power in China for several decades.   Indeed, the Chinese Communist Party has been at the helm of the country since 1949 and has tens of millions of adherents in China. He directs and manages all the social structures of the country, and the most prestigious positions of responsibility are attributed only to members of the party. The Chinese Communist Party also controls China's military and media outlets. The paintings of this artist express several ideas, such as the vestiges of the Chinese collective memory, the common strength in this country and its fragility, the same fragility as the children he paints. Her works offer Chinese youth the opportunity to interpret China's contemporary history.
