After graduating from the Kharkov Art School (1914-1918), he served for three years in the Red Army in Vladikavkaz, where he worked in the ”Windows of KavROST” (”Having healed the wounds of the Red Army soldier, we inflict the wounds of the counter-revolution, 1920). In the late 1920s - early 30s Mr. artist UkrROSTA. In addition to posters, Ivanov created paintings on the theme of Soviet life and industrialization, was engaged in book and industrial graphics, as well as monumental painting. Participated in group exhibitions since 1916. Was a member of the association ”Tseh” (1916), the group ”Union of Seven” (1917), AKhCHU and OSMU (since 1928). In 1938 he was admitted to the Union of Artists of Ukraine, and three years later was expelled for “decadence.” The artist’s works were exhibited at foreign exhibitions in Italy, France, Poland, Germany, and the USA. The artist’s exhibition took place in 1941 in Kiev and in Kharkov in 2011. The artist’s works are in the museum collections of the Kharkov Art Museum, the State Museum of Ukrainian Fine Arts in Kiev, the Odessa Art Museum and others.
