Bom-Grigorieva N. S. - Daisies on a chair.. ХХ century. 30x41 cm.  Paper, coal.  Nadezhda Sergeevna Bom-Grigorieva, (1884–1974) - Russian and Soviet artist, graphic artist, painter. Her works are included in the collections of many museums in Russia and the CIS. She was an honorary member of the Moscow Bookplate Club. Born into a noble family. She studied in Moscow in private studios with Vasily Polenov, Vladimir Rossinsky and Emilia Falliz. In the 1920s she studied at VKHUTEMAS with Pyotr Konchalovsky. Since 1916 she has participated in exhibitions. Member and exhibitor of the associations ”Modern Painting” (1916-1917), ”Moscow Salon” (1917-1920), ”Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions” (1917-1923), Moscow Association of Artists (1924), Association of Graphic Artists (1926- 1928), group “22 artists” (1927), Society of Artists named after I. E. Repin, AHRR. Since 1924, she began to study etching under the guidance of Matvey Alekseevich Dobrov. In the 1930s, she completed the only bookplate in her name and never returned to book signs. Subsequently, in the 1940s, all of Bom-Grigorieva’s book signs were acquired by the famous collector Sergei Petrovich Fortinsky. In the 1920s and 1930s, she visited and painted in Kandalaksha, and created a number of works dedicated to Pomeranian antiquity. During her studies, she created a series of watercolors with antique bas-reliefs. At the end of the 30s, the artist created a series of “Crimean landscapes”. In 1938, in Moscow, together with her husband, she participated in the exhibition of paintings by polar artists “Arctic”, organized with the aim of popularizing the Soviet North.
