Semyon Fedorovich Fedorov (1867 - 1910) - Russian artist, landscape painter. Born into a peasant family. Having entered military service, he was engaged in amateur painting. The President of the Academy of Arts, Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, played his role in the artist’s fate. One day he came across the works of S.F. Fedorov. Seeing them, the Grand Duke gave the order to admit him to the Imperial Academy of Arts as a student in the workshop of the Russian landscape artist I.I. Shishkina. Having received an education at the Academy, the artist painted sketches in the open air near the Siverskaya railway station, in the vicinity of the Valaam Monastery, in Finland, Nizhny Novgorod. IN In the 1890s he studied in the workshop of Professor Yu.Yu. Clover. For some time he lived and worked in St. Petersburg, and traveled to Finland. He took part in hostilities in the Russian-Japanese War and was seriously wounded. Semyon Fedorovich Fedorov died from his wounds in 1910 in Nizhny Novgorod. Currently, the artist’s works are stored in museums and private collections in Russia.
