Kuchumov Vasily Nikitich (1888-1959) - painter, graphic artist, monumentalist; author of genre paintings, landscapes, interiors. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, he received the title of artist of painting. Master of historical painting, landscape painter, theater artist. Born in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the Higher Art School at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1910 - 1916) under V. Makovsky. In 1911 he received the 2nd Prize of the Academy of Arts. He took part in the annual exhibitions of the “Tva Independent” (1911 – 1914), the “Triangle” group (1908), the Society named after. A. Kuindzhi (1926 – 1929), was an exhibitor at the TPHV. He was influenced by the masters of the “World of Arts”, adhered to their historical concept, often conveying the mood of Pushkin’s era in his works. In 1921 – 1938 he painted interiors and views of suburban palaces in St. Petersburg using various techniques. The works are stored in the State Russian Museum, the Oranienbaum Museum-Reserve, the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, and other museums in Russia and Ukraine.
