Abbreviated translation of one of the most important works by Antonio de Herrera (1549-1625), historian and chief chronicler of Spain, who established himself until the 19th century as one of the main sources for the history of Hispanic conquests in the New World. The third volume was published 11 years after the other two and is considered much rarer. The collation of the three volumes or decades is as follows: I - [30], 776, [24] p.; II - [24], 748, [28] p.; III - [30], 790 p. Title and preliminary pages (of the three volumes) with some restorations; volume III presents the facsimile title page and the “Table des matieres” (6 f.) bound before the beginning of the text, when it should be at the end of the volume.
