The author (1795-1870), a French officer born in Lyon, was a cavalry captain during the Spanish campaign and general inspector of stud farms in France. The work is illustrated with 40 hand-colored lithographs, by Cœuré, according to the author's own drawings, representing Spanish uses and customs. Small restoration on the outer edge of the title page. Otherwise, a very clean copy, covered in contemporary green shagreen half-binding. Palau, 55624. Foulché-Delboc, 302.
