French First Empire Napoleonic Officer's Saber by ”Pirmet a Paris” C 1800. - Item details Description French First Empire Napoleonic Officer's Saber by ”Pirmet a Paris” C. 1800. The steel, curved blade that is decorated with fire blue and gilt engraved motifs for half its length. Something unusual with the fire blue panels outlined in gilt. Also visible at the base of the blade, underneath the langet, are the letters I S B. Blade in superb condition with just a couple of small patches of very minor pitting, else about perfect. The brass hilt is unembellished with the exception of the fluting on the top of the pommel. Finely checkered ebony grip with just one tiny hairline else about perfect. Hilt retains much of the original gilt. The brass scabbard is also unembellished with the exception of the raised ring mounts and embossed lines on either side of the ring mounts. Decoratively cut steel drag. Scabbard about perfect, just a couple of tiny, really negligible, dents and retaining much of the original gilt. A very pretty First Empire saber in superior condition.
