A Shamshir, sword with scabbard, Persia, 19th century. - Item details Description A Shamshir, sword with scabbard, Persia, 19th century. Steel, curved Damascus steel blade with two fullers on each side. At the base of the blade there is an inscription in Arabic, along the butt there is an engraved geometric pattern. The steel guard with inscriptions in Arabic is decorated with silver inlay. The iron pommel is also decorated with silver inlay. The handle consists of two bone plates. The scabbard is wooden, covered in black leather, the iron fittings of the scabbard are decorated with inscriptions in Arabic and silver inlay, in the same style as the hilt.
