French Napoleon III Diplomat Sword, mid-19th century. - Item details Description French Napoleon III Diplomat Sword, mid-19th century. Beautiful sword from the Second Empire period. It is an elegant straight blade with three edges, decorated with engravings and perfectly preserved blue and gilding. A very high quality gilded bronze hilt decorated with faceted steel inserts. On the protection shield, we find the imperial eagle. The pommel also features an imperial eagle. Gilded engraved bronze handle and with bands of burnished steel. One bands is missing. Leather sheath with gold plated brass fittings. A decorative chain connects the pommel and the guard. A very exquisite weapon in excellent collectible condition.
