A Very rare Polearm, ”Morgenstern” (Morning Star) or ”Holy Water Sprinkler”, Germany, 16th century. - Item details Description A Very rare Polearm, ”Morgenstern” (Morning Star) or ”Holy Water Sprinkler”, Germany, 16th century. An intimidating pole mace of a brutal form with a lengthy shaft made from original hardwood, twelve sharpened, forged, iron spikes protruding from the bulging head, and a single vertical spike surrounded with an iron ring at the base. Side spikes attached to steel, forged strips that are secured to the shaft with rivets, for greater reliability. The mark of a master blacksmith or arsenal is carved on the shaft.
