Graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1938. From 1942 he published popular science essays in various publications. Candidate of Technical Sciences (1945), author of 25 inventions.
Editor-in-Chief of the Tekhnika-Molodyozhi magazine (1945-1948), head of the science department of the Izvestiya newspaper (1949-1955), editor-in-chief of the Soviet Culture newspaper (1956-1961), then a scientific observer and member of the scientific collegium of the newspaper " Truth".
In 1960 he was awarded the Lenin Prize as one of the authors of the book Face to Face with America.
