NAZI PROPAGANDA MAGAZINE PROMOTION
Rare advertising brochure for the short-lived German propaganda magazine 'Der Monat - Deutsche Blaetter fuer Volkstum und Heimat' (the Month - German magazine for folklore and homeland). The cover shows a bold photograph of Adolf Hitler surrounded by a group of SA brownshirts, above the photograph is a brown banner with two swastikas on either side of the magazine title. The inside advertises a 'Good and cheap new-German magazine with many illustrations - Valuable content! - Valuable pictures!' The publishers promise to promote the same goals as the 'League for Folklore and Homeland', a recently created organization by the Fuhrer's Deputy Pg. Rudolf Hess. The magazine will feature 'entertainment and guidance for the working people in Germany...visually document important events...speeches by the Fuhrer...essays with pictures about racial science...content for the German wife and mother...the magazine for the new times.' An order form is printed on the bottom of the last pages. Only six issues are shown to be published, from October 1933 to March 1934. A magazine with the same name was again published in 1948, sponsored by the US Government (OMGUS - Office of the Military Government for Germany), serving as a propaganda weapon against communism and fascism. 4 pages, 7.25 x 10.25 inches.
