SOVIET ARMY GENERAL IVAN PAVLOVSKY
(1909 - 1999) Soviet military leader, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR (1967-1980). General of the Army (1967). Hero of the Soviet Union (1969). A greeting card featuring an image of the Russian battleship Potemkin on its cover. The battleship became famous when the crew rebelled against the officers in June 1905, which is now viewed as a first step towards the Russian Revolution of 1917. The card contains a typed note addressed to Field Marshal of Engineering Troops Victor Kharchenko congratulating him with the 52nd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Signed and dated in blue ink, November 1, 1969. 4 x 5.5 in. when folded, very good.
