RED ARMY TRENCH NEWSPAPER SHEET
An original blank sheet, printed for the Red Army trench newspaper 'Battle Sheet' ('Boevoi Listok'). It contains a popular Soviet WWII slogan, 'Death to the German Invaders!' and a quote by Kuzma Minin, a national hero who defended the country against the Polish invasion in the early 17th century, 'We won't spare our lives to defend the motherland.' The sheet also displays portraits of Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, another hero of the Polish-Muscovite War, and an image of this 17th-century battle. 11 x 15.75 in., horizontal fold, toning, some tears and paper minor loss.
