NKVD DYNAMO SPORTS CLUB AWARD TO MARIA ISAKOVA
An award citation issued to Maria Isakova by the Dynamo Sports Club for placing second in the 1000 meter speed skating competition dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the Red Army and Fleet, VCHK, GPU, NKVD, and to the 15th anniversary of the Dynamo Sports Club. Dynamo is a sports and fitness society created in 1923 in the Soviet Union. It was an association of multi-sport clubs of NKVD security forces and after World War II, MVD and KGB. Isakova would later become a World Champion speed skater. She participated in the World Allround Championships three times, winning gold every time. This made her the first female speed skater to become World Champion three times and, since her titles were consecutive, the first female speed skater to become World Champion in three consecutive years. For her achievements, Isakova was awarded the Order of Lenin. The document has original signatures of two NKVD officers, Senior Lieutenant of Federal Security BIRYUKOV and Deputy Chairman of the Dynamo Sports Club KUNPRIYANOV. 8.75 x 11.5 in. Very good.
