A rare and significant volume combining two landmark works:
1. “Geschichte des Karäerthums” by Julius Fürst – A pioneering study on the history, theology, and literature of the Karaite movement up to the year 900 CE.
2. “Geschichte der jüdischen Münzen” by Moritz Abraham Levy – A comprehensive and richly illustrated work on the history of Jewish coinage, featuring dozens of woodcut depictions.
Published in Leipzig in 1862 by Carl B. Lorck, under the auspices of the Institute for the Promotion of Israelite Literature. Texts in German with extensive use of Hebrew and Aramaic.
Original hardcover binding with leather spine. In very good condition with appropriate signs of age and use.
