Jewish Prayer book given to Otto Brod by a military rabbi. WWI. The birthday of Emperor Franz Joseph I - סדר תפלה - שיר ושבחה - ע”פ נוסח ספרד. Entry in the handwriting of Otto Broad, written on the first page of a small a Siddur, signed both by hand and with his stamp. Brod declares to have received this prayer book by the field rabbi at the occasion of the service for the birthday of the emperor ”Kaiser Franz Joseph“, 2.12. 1916. in „Isonzofront“ (Isonzo front).  Otto Broad was deported to Theresienstadt on December 10, 1942. On October 28, 1944, he was transported on the last transport from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz, where he perished. In Theresienstadt he wrote two plays, one of which The Success of Columbus was also performed in Theresienstadt. 228 pp. 11X7 cm. Fair condition, wear to cover and spine
