A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURES, 20TH CENTURY
A pair of Meissen porcelain figures after designs by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775). The first figure 'Gardener's Child with Spade' depicts a girl standing on a rocaille-decorated pedestal holding a bouquet and a spade. The second figure 'Gardener's Child with Flower Pinafore' depicts a girl standing on a rocaille-decorated pedestal holding a bouquet in hand and blossoms nestled in her pinafore. Underglaze blue crossed swords mark on the underside.
