RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATE, IMPERIAL FACTORY 1825-1855.
St. Petersburg, circa 1840.
A porcelain plate by the Imperial Porcelain Factory. Circular, with an undulating rim, the cavetto is painted in the center with the Imperial double-headed eagle, framed within a blue border embellished with a stylized gilt floral design. Marked on the verso with a dark blue underglaze Cyrillic monogram 'N I' beneath the Imperial Russian crown.
