описание:
Of circular form with a raised base and a shaped angular handle, the openwork body featuring a repeating pattern of oval medallions enclosing stylized rosettes and connected by engraved horizontal bands with beaded borders. The rim and base are both simply molded, emphasizing the delicate latticework and linear engraving.
Hallmarks: maker’s mark “AL”, 84 silver standard, St. Petersburg town mark, assayer’s mark “ИЕ” (Cyrillic) for Ivan Yevstafiev, 1872 date mark.
Weight: 4.4 oz. (approx. 125 g.)
Note: This refined early example of a St. Petersburg silver tea glass holder reflects the transitional taste of the 1870s, combining neoclassical symmetry with nascent Pan-Slavic ornament. The use of pierced floral medallions and linear engraving exemplifies the precision and elegance associated with mid-19th-century St. Petersburg craftsmanship.
