описание:

A KPM BERLIN PORCELAIN CUP DEPICTING THE KÖNIGSPALAIS, PRUSSIA, EARLY 19TH CENTURY

Of flared cylindrical form with loop handle, finely painted with a continuous architectural view of the Königspalais in Berlin, showing the palace façade with figures and carriage in the foreground, executed in delicate polychrome enamels against a pale sky. The scene titled below "Königs Paläis" within the painted composition. The cup is enriched with heavy burnished gilt to the rim and interior, with moulded beadwork borders framing the painted reserve, and scrolling gilt ornament on the opposing panel. The porcelain body marked to the base with a blue underglaze KPM sceptre mark, indicating manufacture by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur, Berlin. The quality of painting, use of architectural vedute, and luxurious gilding are characteristic of early 19th-century Berlin porcelain produced for the Prussian court and elite patronage.
