The woman is clad in a long fitted dress with a structured bodice and flared skirt, the sculptural treatment emphasizing slender proportions, flowing contours and refined linearity characteristic of Paul Scheurich’s modernist figural language. The composition is deliberately restrained and monochrome, relying on form, silhouette and balance rather than polychromy or surface ornament, aligning with Meissen’s interwar exploration of pure white porcelain as an expression of sculptural clarity. The figure stands on an integral-shaped base. The underside bears the underglaze blue crossed swords mark of Meissen, together with incised factory numbers and firing marks, indicating first-quality production. This model belongs to Paul Scheurich’s important series of modern figural designs created for Meissen in the 1920s and 1930s, reflecting the transition from historicism to Art Deco–influenced elegance in German porcelain sculpture.
