описание:

A MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A CHINESE DANCING BOY BY PAUL SCHEURICH

Porcelain sculpture finely modeled as a smiling Chinese boy in animated pose holding a cornucopia, the boy wearing a flowing robe decorated in lavender and white with applied button detail, set upon a gilt edged octagonal base with a green foliate support at the side. The figure belongs to Meissen’s early 20th century reinterpretation of chinoiserie subjects and reflects Paul Scheurich’s characteristic sculptural language marked by dynamic movement, stylized facial expression, and theatrical elegance. The underside bears the underglaze blue crossed swords with dot mark of Meissen Porcelain, consistent with Meissen production of the 1920s.

Marks: Crossed Swords with Dot, Impressed 48.

Lit.: Paul Scheurich, Meissener Manuskripte vol. 8, ill. p. 66.
