A PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP OF A SATYR AND NYMPH WITH CUPID, KPM, FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY

Porcelain figure group modeled in the round depicting a mythological scene with a standing satyr gesturing upward in animated contrapposto, his muscular nude form rendered with pronounced anatomical modeling, beside a reclining nude nymph resting against a rocky outcrop, her pose conveying classical sensuality and repose. At the base, a small Cupid figure tumbles playfully amid stylized waves and foliage, reinforcing the allegorical theme of love and desire.

Executed entirely in glazed white porcelain, the group emphasizes sculptural form and surface refinement rather than polychrome decoration, reflecting the revival of Baroque and Rococo compositions characteristic of KPM figural production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The composition is arranged on an integrally modeled plinth with an oval footprint. The verso is marked with an underglaze KPM scepter mark, together with impressed factory numerals including consistent with KPM manufacture during the first half of the 20th century.
