A MEISSEN HAND-PAINTED PORCELAIN FIGURAL GROUPING OF A HUSSAR AND WOMAN ON HORSEBACK

Hand-painted porcelain figural grouping depicting a mounted hussar on a rearing horse with a woman seated side saddle behind him. The composition is conceived in an animated Rococo Revival idiom with elegantly elongated figures, expressive gestures and dynamic movement. The hussar is shown in stylized military dress with a tall crested headdress and gilt-enhanced uniform details, while the female companion is modeled in flowing attire with a translucent scarf and delicately painted bodice. The horse is rendered with raised forelegs and finely observed dappling and musculature, its harness and saddle enriched with blue enamel ornament and gilt scrolling. The group is supported on an integrated scroll molded base applied with floral decoration and soft green accents. The palette is dominated by whites, pale pinks, blues and gilding applied with care and refinement typical of late 19th-century Meissen figural production. The underside bears the crossed Meissen swords mark in underglaze, together with impressed factory and model numbers.
