A POLISH ORDER OF POLONIA RESTITUTA (ORDER OF REBIRTH OF POLAND), KNIGHT'S CROSS, CASED - The lot comprises a white-enamel five-armed cross with gilt borders suspended from its original red ribbon with white edge stripes. The obverse medallion bears the Polish white eagle encircled by the motto ”Polonia Restituta, ” while the reverse is dated ”1944.” Housed in its original fitted presentation case embossed with the Polish state eagle. A representative example of one of Poland's highest civilian and military decorations, awarded for distinguished achievements in public service, culture, science, education, and national defense. Dimensions: 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 in., (4.8 x4.8 cm.) Conditions: Minor wear to the enamel and gilt finish. Ribbon with light age wear and discoloration. Case showing expected scuffing and handling marks.
