Jean Carrière
French writer.
Winner of the Prix Goncourt in 1972 for his novel, published the same year, "L'Épervier de Maheux", set in an imaginary hamlet, Maheux, in the high Cévennes. The book was a worldwide success and became the best-selling Goncourt in history.
